W.e will mark Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's birthday at a public gathering. Come see the exhibit of DASSK photos and posters; listen to songs for her freedom; tie ribbons in our birthday wish tree; be a witness by watching our re-enactment of the John W Yettaw swim that has led to her outrageous arrest and trial; you can then phone the SPDC directly or record a message to e sent to them over the following days. The gathering follows a forum where Thai and Burmese political analysts present their views on the current situation in Burma under the regime.

ACTIONS BIRMANIE - Belgium - www.birmanie.net
2009-06-19 please check website in future daysPlace de Brouckère
This time, Actions Birmanie wont be demonstrating in front of the local Burmese Embassy.
On Daw Suu's 64th Birthday, Actions Birmanie has requested the City of Brussels to pay tribute to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's fight for Democracy and Human Rights. The City of Brussels is one of the 49 communes in Belgium - so far - to have awarded DASSK a status of Citizen of Honour. On June 19th, the City will unveil a banner, hanging from a favourably exposed downtown facade.
The banner says "One more birthday in prison" , both in french and dutch languages. It is part of a new communication project developed by a partner communication company - as a volunteering project.
All supporters will be asked to gather with a yellow flower in hand/
Actions Birmanie will uses the event to communicate about DASSK 's unfair trial going on in Rangoon, aswell as about the main issues of the months to come ( un-equal constitution and fake 'free' elections announced by tje Junta to be held in 2010..)
We will ask our state representatives and MP's to consider ACTION - rather than talks - on the Burma issue.
We will denounce the criminal attitude of the SPDC in the recent attcks in eastern Burma.
